Update 29/10: Netflix has released the official full-length trailer for season four of The Crown.

The short preview allows us to hear Gillian Anderson's interpretation of Margaret Thatcher's distinctive voice for the first time.

"I think we have enough respect for one another personally to ask ourselves some of the bigger questions, woman to woman," she's heard saying to the Queen (played by Olivia Colman). "We are the same age, after all."

The trailer, entitled "Bend. Or Break" also allows us our first preview of Emma Corrin's softly spoken voice as Diana, Princess of Wales.

"As the 1970s are drawing to a close, Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) and her family find themselves preoccupied with safeguarding the line of succession by securing an appropriate bride for Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor), who is still unmarried at 30," reads the accompanying text. "While Charles’ romance with a young Lady Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin) provides a much-needed fairytale to unite the British people, behind closed doors, the Royal family is becoming increasingly divided."

Update 13/10: Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for season four of The Crown, which focuses on the initial meeting of Prince Charles and Diana, and the subsequent run-up to their royal wedding day. As we know, theirs was not a marriage that ended well - which the trailer emphasises.

"Here is the stuff of which fairy tales are made," opens the chilling trailer. "A prince and princess on their wedding day. But fairy tales usually end at this point, with the simple phrase, 'They lived happily ever after'. As husband and wife live out their vows, loving and cherishing one another, sharing life's splendours and miseries, achievements and set-backs, they will be transformed in the process."

This is set against multiple scenes, some of which show Prince Charles happily dancing with Diana and then angrily shouting at his new wife. It ends with a shot of the bride smiling on her wedding day.

The award-winning drama, which follows the lives of the royal family, will return to screens on 15 November, welcoming new characters including Diana, Princess of Wales - played by Emma Corrin - and Margaret Thatcher, played by Gillian Anderson, who also makes several appearances in the new trailer. Original story 29/09: Netflix has released some exclusive preview images from season four of The Crown. The streaming service has previously also shared the first teaser trailer (below).

"Something as important as the monarchy cannot be allowed to fail," Olivia Colman says as Queen Elizabeth in the 30-second trailer, which then goes on to give fans a glimpse of Emma Corrin as Princess Diana, as well as Gillian Anderson in her new role as Margaret Thatcher.

In the new images, Emma Corrin can be seen looking uncannily similar to the late people's princess, wearing a lemon yellow suit with her hair in a short crop, and then later in a strapless purple dress for an outing alongside Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles.

Gillian Anderson is also seen in character as Margaret Thatcher, waving from the front door of 10 Downing Street, while Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies are a stoic Queen and Prince Philip, looking down from a box at the theatre.

Although the short trailer does not give too much away about exactly what will be covered in the new season, it does show Corrin wearing a wedding dress, suggesting that an episode will be focused on the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Diana Spencer.
