Nicole Kidman's recognition at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala included a hilarious speech from Morgan Freeman.

PEOPLE has an exclusive clip from the upcoming 49th AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Nicole Kidman special, filmed during the Saturday, April 27 ceremony, that gives a peek at Freeman's colorful choice of language.

"I'm here to say that I sat in that chair, and I know exactly what's going through your mind," began Freeman, who himself was honored at the 39th annual ceremony.

"You're thinking, 'the American Film Institute? The highest honor for a career in film? Me?' And you're also thinking, with that beautiful smile, 'F------ A,'" he added, causing the crowd to burst into laughter.

"It is what you're thinking, isn't it? And we're here to prove it, so let's get started," continued Freeman as Kidman smiled while covering her 15-year-old daughter Sunday Rose's ears. The clip ends with Freeman passionately singing Moulin Rouge's "Your Song."

Freeman, 87, was one of Kidman's former costars present at the ceremony to help honor her with the AFI Life Achievement Award.

In addition to having her Special Ops: Lioness costar there, Kidman, 56, received tributes from Meryl StreepNaomi Watts and Reese Witherspoon.

Once Kidman took the stage, she opened up about the "privilege" she has to make films.

“And glorious to have made films and television with these storytellers who allowed me to run wild and be free and play all of these unconventional women. Thank you for making me better at my craft and giving me a place, however temporary, in this world," said Kidman during her speech. "Thank you for inviting me into your movie families. Thank you for my childhood dream that became a reality.”

Along with Sunday, the actress attended the ceremony with her husband Keith Urban and their daughter Faith Margaret, 13.

For the event, Kidman wore an elegant gold custom Balenciaga look from the Fall '24 collection paired with black Balenciaga pumps. She wore strawberry blonde hair in a side part with loose waves, a smokey eye, a rose blush and a pink lip.

The 49th AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Nicole Kidman airs Monday, June 17, at 10 p.m. ET on TNT and on Thursday, June 27, at 8 p.m. ET on Turner Classic Movies (TCM)
