Here’s why the famous Hard Rock Cadillac is gone

Stroll past the Hard Rock Cafe on Cuscaden Road and you’ll see the iconic car is gone from the facade

SINGAPORE — One of Singapore’s most iconic cars has changed hands. The Hard Rock Cafe’s famous Cadillac Series 62 De Ville was taken down yesterday and carted off on the back of a truck.

Not because its COE has expired, mind you, but because the restaurant is undergoing renovations as part of a revamp for its 25th anniversary in Singapore.

The car was raffled off to patrons for $25 a ticket, with the proceeds going to the Melrose Home, a children’s aid society.

Hard Rock will reopen its doors on September 1st, minus the iconic car on its facade as the cafe moves to a new look. Here’s one last glimpse of a motoring sight we’ll never see again.
