Just days after news broke that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are selling their sprawling, $61 million Beverly Hills mansion, insiders are offering a glimpse into why the A-list couple decided that the home wasn't for them—and it doesn't have anything to do with their relationship status. A friend told People that the house is too big, for one, and that Ben wants to be closer to his children.

"Ben never liked the house. It's too far away from his kids," the source shared. And as for why Lopez is also pushing for new digs, "The house is way too big for her."

TMZ broke the news back on June 8 that the couple had listed their mansion. According to the Wall Street Journal, Lopez and Affleck purchased the $61-million-dollar mansion in the spring of 2023. The outlet notes that the property includes "12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a 12-car garage, and a pool, plus a sports complex with basketball and pickleball facilities, a gym and a boxing ring."

Lopez and Affleck haven't commented on their real estate situation and were last photographed together on Sunday, June 2, when they attended Affleck’s son Samuel's basketball game in Santa Monica. Affleck is currently working on The Accountant 2 and has been living in a rental property closer to set, while Lopez continues to live in the Beverly Hills estate.

“They’re still friendly and see each other every few days,” a separate source shared with People.
