A 23-year-old woman has been arrested for cheating through the sale of tickets of the National Day Parade and a concert by Singaporean pop star JJ Lin.

The police said on Thursday (16 August) that they received 16 reports from victims who had been cheated after coming across listings on Carousell selling the tickets.

The victims paid for the tickets through bank transfers but did not receive the tickets. The suspect then became uncontactable.

The woman will be charged in court on Friday with cheating. If convicted, she faces a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine.
