Wong Yat Fei gains weight after a long hiatus

13 Jan - Comedy actor Wong Yat Fei surprised many when he appeared looking chubbier than the last time he was seen in Hong Kong.

According to Apple Daily News, the 69-year-old actor, who recently made a cameo appearance for Alfred Cheung's new movie, "I Want to Be Quiet", admitted that he has gained a lot of weight since he quit smoking and moved to mainland China.

"My weight ballooned after I stopped smoking seven years ago. I gained probably close to 50 pounds," said Wong.

The actor also revealed that he has also been diagnosed with heel spur because of his weight gain.

"There are always two sides to everything in this world," said Wong.

When asked if he would return to Hong Kong to film more movies, the "Shaolin Soccer" actor said, "I don't think that there's a lot of work for me in Hong Kong. I really can't walk. I may need someone to take care of me."

Wong, who has also worked with Stephen Chow in many of his movies, expressed interest to work with the comedy auteur again if given a chance.
