Would you dance for free prata? These Singaporeans would

A total of 450 pratas were given out, proving that Singaporeans would dance for free prata on Thursday, when they hopped onto the dance floor at Asia Square and showed off dance moves from break-dancing to salsa.

They were taking part in the newly launched nation-wide dance movement “Got To Move” by the National Arts Council and social group The Hidden Good.

The event called “Dance for your Prata” was a social experiment to see how sporting Singaporeans can get with their dance moves, even when they are in office attire.

It was also the first event of the movement's campaign to celebrate the different types of dance in Singapore.

For the event, organisers blasted retro music and top 40s hits such as Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” and pulled in passers-by and onlookers to the dance floor.

Some of them were enticed by the free food, as participants were promised a plate of Singaporean’s favourite flour-based pancake, prata, along with a cup of teh tarik.
