Yahoo Poll: Do you feel a kinship with Malaysia?

Recent events have strained ties between Malaysia and Singapore, but the histories of the two nations are so intertwined that some – including Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad – see us as “twins”.

Others feel this is a flawed analogy, as Singapore and Malaysia simply are two sovereign nations with our identities and aspirations and have pursued different paths since separating in 1965.

We constantly bicker over ownership of various foods, chendol being the latest example – but we enjoy so many of the same foods on both sides of the Causeway.
