She was dancing on a podium at Zouk when a man pulled her by the hips towards him. Despite being rejected by her, Toh Jian Hui, 20, still went on to molest the woman, who was 22 at the time the incident took place on 29 May 2016.

Appearing before District Judge Eddy Tham on Thursday (25 May), Toh pleaded guilty to one charge of using criminal force with the intent to outrage the modesty of a woman.

The court heard that after the initial grab, the woman told Toh she did not appreciate his actions and warned him not to be desperate. However, Toh persisted in pulling his victim towards him. He also pressed his erect penis against the woman’s buttocks and fondled her breasts.

After finally breaking free from Toh, the woman told him she would be right back but instead called the police.

Toh’s lawyer T.M. Sinnadurai said that his client was remorseful for his actions and urged the court to consider his client’s age. He added that Toh is a bright student who is going on to pursue tertiary education after completing his “A” levels.

Judge Tham called for a probation suitability report and reserved sentencing to 30 June.
