Zikreev Stuns in Debut, Lasiri Edges Ogden At ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX IV

ONE Championship wrapped up its INSIDE THE MATRIX series with another spectacular event on Friday, 20 November.

ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX IV featured everything from submission finishes to TKOs to a three-round thriller.

In the evening’s main event, ONE newcomer and European Muay Thai Champion Aslanbek Zikreev scored a split-decision win over Wang “Golden Boy” Junguang.

For the better part of three rounds, Zikreev stood in the pocket and threw haymakers at the #2-ranked strawweight.

Wang often returned fire and pushed the pressure, but Zikreev did a superb job of scoring off the back foot and using his movement to avoid taking any damage from the rushing Chinese athlete.

With the victory, Zikreev not only earned his first win in ONE, but he also proved to be an exciting addition to the kickboxing roster.

In the co-main event, martial arts fans were treated to a fantastic display of Muay Thai, as Joseph “The Hurricane” Lasiri faced Rocky Ogden in a ONE Super Series catchweight contest.

From the onset, Lasiri took the fight to the #2-ranked strawweight contender, peppering him with long knees from the outside and horizontal elbows when in close.

Ogden accepted the invitation to engage and began landing sweltering right body kicks on Lasiri’s torso.

But in the final round, Lasiri relentlessly attacked with additional knees and elbows to clinch the split-decision win.
