87 cakes suspected to be laced with cannabis seized by CNB
SINGAPORE – The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has seized 87 cakes believed to be infused with cannabis.
In an operation on Wednesday (28 April), CNB officers also arrested a 38-year-old man for suspected drug activities.
In a press release on Friday, CNB said that its officers arrested the man in the vicinity of Upper Cross Street on Wednesday evening. The man was brought to his hideout nearby, where a search was conducted. There, at the residential unit, officers found and seized five packets containing about 36g of ‘Ice' and various drug paraphernalia, in addition to the 87 cakes.
CNB said that it is currently investigating the suspect's drug activities.
Cannabis is a Class A controlled drug listed under Singapore’s Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA). The consumption, possession, trafficking, import or export of any controlled drugs, including cannabis and cannabis products, is an offence under the MDA.
