WNBA rookie Angel Reese made her debut at the Met Gala red carpet this evening. Recently drafted by the Chicago Sky, the LSU women’s basketball notable selected Stuart Weitzman slingback pumps, custom-dyed to seafoam, complemented by a matching dress.
The Reebok athlete chose a shining slingback shoe, the EVA 75 Slingback, in a custom seafoam satin color. These shoes were decorated with more than 600 crystals, each carefully placed by hand. Alongside these sparkling shoes, she wore a halter dress adorned with feathers and sequins, crafted by Marco Capaldo, the creative mind behind 16Arlington. This dress featured a bold plunging neckline and a sheer, delicately embroidered skirt. Speaking to WWD, Reese shared, “I feel beautiful and I feel sexy,” reflecting on her standout outfit. She also mentioned that today is a special occasion as it’s her 22nd birthday.
About the Shoes
Reese opted for the classic slingback design, which features a curvy V-shaped vamp and an elongated pointed toe. These metallic heels, adorned with 600 hand-placed crystals, matched the sequins on her dress. The slim stiletto heel, visible through her dress, measured approximately 3 inches in height.

The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” celebrates the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit. The 2024 event is notably co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
