Third dead cat in Yishun ‘involved in road accident’: AVA

Another cat was found dead in Yishun, making it the second death this week and the third this month.
The body of the cat was found near block 732 Yishun Avenue 5.
Photos of the latest dead cat were posted on Facebook on Friday (22 Jan), by local community page, Yishun 326 Tabby Cat. The page administrator said that they are also seeking for more information from eyewitnesses.
Earlier this week, a bloodied dead cat was found in a drain near block 361 Yishun Ring Road. The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) said they are currently investigating the case of the dead cat found on Tuesday (19 Jan).
Animal cruelty is a crime in Singapore. If found guilty, one could be jailed for up to one year or fined up to $10,000, or both, under the Animals and Birds Act.
The latest cat death in Yishun comes after Lee Wai Long, 40, who has been charged with one count of animal cruelty for throwing a cat from the 13th floor of a HDB apartment at block 115B Yishun Ring Road late last year, was granted bail of $10,000 on Tuesday (19 Jan).

A dead cat was found at block 123 Yishun Street 11.
24 September 2015
Three dead cats were found on the same day. The three locations are, block 852 Yishun Street 81, block 661 Yishun Avenue 4 and Northland Primary School.
