EastEnders to air new Maya twist as Harvey shares Aaron’s past

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders will air a further twist involving newcomer Maya Houssain next week.

In recent weeks, Maya has become close to Harvey Monroe after they bonded over football when he gave her a lift in his taxi.

Harvey was pleased to have a new friend after feeling lonely following the departures of Mitch Baker and Rocky Cotton.

However, it appeared that Maya wasn't all she seemed when Harvey tried to track her down, only to realise she had deleted her online account.

Maya claimed she deleted her social media due to concerns over being scammed following the death of her husband, but viewers still had their suspicions.

Those suspicions will be further aroused next week when Harvey and Maya have lunch together after she is stood up by a friend.

The pair discuss families and Harvey decides to share the truth about his son Aaron's extremist past. Aaron was involved in the soap's far-right storyline and is currently in prison in Newcastle following his involvement in the plot to plant a bomb in the Square.

Later, Maya doesn't respond to Harvey's text and he worries that he's scared her off.

However, viewers will see Maya looking up Aaron's criminal history. But just why is she so interested?

These scenes will air next week, but EastEnders, along with other soaps, will face schedule changes in the coming weeks due to the TV coverage of Euro 2024.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
