Full day weekday trials of the new signalling system on the North-South Line (NSL) will continue, said a joint statement by SMRT and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Tuesday (27 June).

During this period, commuters “may continue to experience some delay when travelling on NSL, if new issues emerge”, said SMRT and LTA.

Full weekday trials have been ongoing since 29 May.

The joint statement added, “The full-day trials over the past four weeks have allowed engineers to stress-test the system, and observe its performance under intense operational conditions that are typical of weekday peak hours, when trains are running at high frequencies with heavy commuter loads.”

SMRT and LTA also thanked commuters for their understanding and patience as they resolved the “teething problems”.
