Fans Found Multiple Joe Alwyn References at Taylor Swift’s Pop-Up Library
Based on the evidence at hand (and there’s...a lot!), Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department is going to be, at least in part, about her relationship with Joe Alwyn. Actually, lemme just...
And on top of all this ^^^, Taylor just dropped a library installation at The Grove in Los Angeles—and the Joe references fans found are...plentiful to say the least. First up, there’s the fact that Tay’s library features exactly 72 card catalog boxes. And 72 months just so happens to equal 6 years (aka the length of Taylor and Joe’s relationship).

Meanwhile, exactly six of the 72 drawers are open to really hammer the point home for people who didn’t initially pick up on it!
Taylor has 72 boxes at the TTPD Library for the 72 months she dated Joe and 6 of them are open for the 6 years they dated?? Nobody talk to me on Friday. This is going to be soul shattering I fear pic.twitter.com/hPLXdiLYdi

Fans *also* noticed that the open drawers are somewhat reminiscent of a mausoleum, which possibly indicates the death of the musician’s six-year relationship.
Obviously, we know it’s an old school card catalog. But our girl LOVES double meanings. These two things don’t function in the same way but from the inherently outside LOOK similar. 🧵 pic.twitter.com/IVgHPGz9aU

Viewers at the installation also get to see a globe on display, which fans think has a NAIL (not a pin) in “Florida,” which is where Taylor was when her and Joe’s breakup was announced.
notice how it’s a nail and not a pin… the last nail in the coffin of their relationship was in florida when the breakup was announced… pic.twitter.com/imCnGbAbgF

Oh, and then there’s the fact that Taylor included a statue of Diana of Ephesus in her library display. Fans did some research and discovered that the real statue apparently broke on its way to...wait for it...LONDON in the...wait for it...SIXTH century.
This statue is Diana of Ephesus, the goddess of childbirth, fertility, and the moon.

The original statue of Diana crumbled while waiting to be shipped to London in the 6th century due to years of neglect, succumbing to the passage of time and the elements. pic.twitter.com/NcR98FNY5J— alu (@vigilantesht) April 16, 2024
Genuinely amazed at the specificity of these references, not to mention how genius Taylor’s fans are! Now BRB, gotta go cancel my Friday plans because clearly the night will be spent sleuthing (jk, canceled them the moment this album was announced as any normal person would do).
