Blacklist International, one of the biggest esports organisations in the Philippines and home to the winners of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M3 World Championship, have announced their entry into the League of Legends: Wild Rift esports scene.

This announcement came in a vlog by Tier One Entertainment co-counder and CEO Irymarc “Tryke” Gutierrez on Monday evening (14 March).

The video showed Tryke approaching co-founder Alodia Gosengfiao and talking about his Ube cake surprise for the team. Tryke then pointed to Alodia for the second surprise.

Alodia revealed the surprise in her hand, which read "Blacklist Wild Rift Team".

“Dream ko talaga ‘to, matagal na (It’s been my dream for a while now),” revealed the Tier One co-founder.

Tryke also mentioned that his dream was to have a Dota team while “matagal na niya (Alodia) kinukulit yung Wild Rift Team (Alodia’s been pushing for a Wild Rift Team for a long time now)".

“This year, it’s happening,” Tryke said.

The Tier One CEO stated that they will be launching the team with a partner, but couldn't reveal more details for now.

“This is something that the community has been waiting for,” he added, though he also reiterated that they didn't have an actual team just yet. “For the record, ang sinasabi namin, we’re going to have a team this year (For the record, what we’re saying is, we’re going to have a team this year).”

Tryke encouraged Wild Rift players to look out and start playing well, “because this year, it’s time to break the code”.

Last month, the newly launched Esports organization Pacquiao.GG, founded by Pacquiao and Veloce Esports in December launched Team Underground, acquiring AXS, the top team in the Wild Rift Champions SEA 2022 qualifiers. Team Underground currently sits at the top of the scoreboard in the Group Stage, surpassing 2021 Horizon Cup semifinalist Team Secret and 2022 WCS invitee Fennel Adversity.

The entry of Pacquiao.GG and Blacklist International into the Wild Rift Esports scene attests the growth of League of Legends' mobile port in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia.

Riot Games plans to expand into the APAC region with the rising popularity of VALORANT and League of Legends: Wild Rift through a Southeast Asian office, with further plans to build an office in the Philippines.
