Honkai: Star Rail reveal Robin is still alive and will be new 5-star Physical Harmony character coming in version 2.2 in May

As a 5-star Harmony character, we can expect Robin to be a game-changing support if the powerful 5-star Harmony trio of Bronya, Sparkle, and Ruan Mei are anything to go by.

The reports of Robin's death are apparently greatly exaggerated as Honkai: Star Rail revealed on Tuesday (12 March) that she will be one of the new playable characters coming in version 2.2 in early May!

Robin wields the Physical element and follows the Path of Harmony, which means her role will be providing support to her teammates through a variety of buffs — most likely through her angelic voice that earned her intergalactic levels of stardom.

Robin is a Halovian, a species that looks very much like humans save for the angel-like wings located behind their ears and the halo-like accessories floating above or behind their heads. She is also the younger sister of Sunday, the leader of Penacony's Oak Family, and is described as "an elegant and demure young lady".

While Robin was born in Penacony, she left the planet once she became older and became a cosmic superstar in the planet Epsilon before becoming arguably the most popular celebrity in the Honkai: Star Rail universe. One of her most iconic songs is "If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking", which notably played during one of the most emotional scenes of the Penacony Trailblaze Missions so far.

Robin can also use the power of Harmony and manifest "resonance" among not only her fans but all manner of lifeforms — an ability she uses on the Trailblazer upon the latter's first arrival to the Golden Hour dreamscape.

Robin was first revealed during the version 2.0 preview livestream and was among the Penacony cast featured prominently in the "White Night" music video.

In the Penacony Trailblaze Missions, Robin was revealed to have returned to her home planet in order to to grace everyone with a song at the Charmony Festival.

She was also one of the victims of the version's "heartwarming, uplifting, positive, and wholesome" story as it closed with the revelation that she had been "killed" after Aventurine showed the Trailblazer her lifeless body lying in a bathtub with an otherworldly wound through, which then dissipated into bubbles.

Sunday would later say that "a nightmare called 'Death' has descended upon Penacony, striking indiscrimately, bringing spiritual death to all equally", which explains what happened to Robin. Since she was killed within a dreamscape, Robin isn't physically dead but was instead inflicted with a "spiritual death" likely by the Memory Zone Meme "Something Unto Death".

In any case, we can only wait until the next installment of Penacony Trailblaze Missions to be released in Honkai: Star Rail version 2.1 in late March to find out more about what happened to Robin.

As a playable character, Robin will be the game's second Physical Harmony character after Hanya. With her 5-star rarity, we can also expect her to be a game-changing support if the powerful 5-star Harmony trio of Bronya, Sparkle, and Ruan Mei are anything to go by.

Robin will be voiced by Alice Himora in the game's English dub, Kaori Nazuka in the Japanese dub, Qian Chen in the Chinese dub, and Shin Onyu in the Korean dub. The singer "Chevy" also sings Robin's songs in all dubs.

We can also expect more new characters making their debut in version 2.2 alongside Robin to be revealed over the coming days.

With Honkai: Star Rail version 2.1 expected to be released on 28 March, and assuming it will have the usual 40-day duration, we can expect that version 2.2 and Robin will be released on 6 May.

Honkai: Star Rail is currently in the second half of version 2.0, which features the debut of Sparkle as well as a rerun for Jing Yuan. If you're still on the fence on who you should pull for this banner, check out our guide here to help you decide.

After version 2.0 comes version 2.1 in late March, which features three new playable characters in Acheron, Aventurine, and Gallagher.
