Less Is More! See the Most Naked Dresses at the 2024 Met Gala

From crystalized couture to glassy gowns, see the ways stars stripped down their styles for fashion's big night out in N.Y.C.

The stars were showing some skin on fashion's biggest night of the year.

Some of the biggest names in style leaned into the naked dress trend to fit the 2024 Met Gala's theme, “The Garden of Time." Some attendees, like Jennifer Lopez and Emily Ratajkowski, covered up with glittering crystals, while others draped themselves more subtly, à la Greta Lee under lace.

Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning wrapped herself into a glassy Balmain dress with ice-sculptural flowers blooming off of her shoulders. Even her shoes appeared barely there under the thin layer of her sheer skirt.

Jennifer Lopez

Met Gala 2024 co-chair Jennifer Lopez hosted the night in custom Schiaparelli Couture with a butterfly-inspired bodice. The dress took an impressive amount of time and effort to execute, crafted with 2,500,000 silver foil bugles and beads over the course of 800-plus hours of hand embroidery.

Emily Ratajkowski

Met Gala veteran Emily Ratajkowski showed some skin on both sides of her body in a sheer gown from Versace's 2001 fall winter collection. The butt-baring crystal look flowed into a petal-patterned skirt and train, which the model paired with equally glittery accessories in Chopard rings and earrings.

FKA twigs

In addition to her glittering chainmail top, FKA twigs wore an oversized shaggy-chic shrug that draped from her shoulders to the carpet beneath her. Crystals studded across her forehead and around her eyes, and she wore chunky diamond cuff earrings for added bling. To complete the Stella McCartney look, the singer's legs shone in sparkling sheer tights.

Rita Ora

Rita Ora showed some leg as she strutted up the Met steps on the arm of her husband Taika Waititi. The singer wore a hanging beaded bodysuit by Marni that left both of her legs exposed beneath nude shapewear.

Greta Lee

Past Lives star Greta Lee shielded herself in a lacy Loewe number with floral accents across the webbing. Beneath the delicate fabric, Lee appeared completely bare, save for her white heels to match her manicure.

Doja Cat

Dripping from her under-eye makeup to her wet ensemble, Doja Cat made a big splash at the Met Gala in a soaked sheer dress. Earlier in the night, however, the "Say So" singer seemed keen to stay dry as she left The Mark Hotel with towels wrapped around her body and head.

Janelle Monáe

In nothing but holographic sequins by Vera Wang, REZA jewels and a 3D flower on her shoulder, Janelle Monáe floated into the Gala on clear heels.
