Low-cost carrier WOW Air launches its own beer

Now even airlines are getting onboard the craft beer trend, as low-cost carrier WOW Air is launching its own WOW Beer in celebration of the Icelandic Beer Festival.

The budget carrier has joined forces with a Danish brewery to develop its own beer for the occasion. Indeed, WOW Air has partnered with "TO ØL," a microbrewery that's already well established on the craft beer scene, with beers available in 50 countries worldwide.

As for the beer itself, WOW Air describes WOW Beer as a having crunchy malt character with floral, hoppy aromas. Still, there's bad news for beer fans who aren't planning on jetting off to Iceland anytime soon, as WOW Beer is a limited edition that'll be available at the Annual Icelandic Beer Festival, held February 22-24 in Reykjavik, and on selected WOW Air flights during the month of February.

The can's design features a purple-tinted scene, including an image of Vincent Van Gogh. This offbeat artwork called "I'm in Paradise" is designed by the Icelandic artist Odee and is originally two meters long and 80cm tall.
