Matsushita Yuki to star in "Dolce" drama special

8 Sep – Senior Japanese actress Matsushita Yuki would be playing the lead role in Fuji TV's special drama "Dolce" this October, according to Tokyo Hive.

Based on one of Honda Tetsuya's "Strawberry Nights" novels, Matsushita would be playing as an unmarried detective named Uozumi Hisae, who solves crime by being involved with those who are connected to the crime.

"She's an experienced and hard-working detective of the investigation unit at a local police station, who believes that it's not just important to catch criminals but to prevent crimes from happening in her jurisdiction in the first place," Matsushita said.

"Dolce" means sweet in Italian and Matsushita said that the drama would be suspenseful with a sweet atmosphere.

Also appearing in the drama are other veteran actors Tanabe Seiichi, Totsugi Shigeyuki, Yanagihara Haruo, Sugata Shun and Nishioka Tokuma. Baba Toru would play as a young detective who adores Matsushita's character, and there will be guest appearances by Uchiyama Rina and Hoshi Yuriko.

"Dolce" would be shown on Fuji TV's 'Friday Prestige' slot; a first for Matsushita, sometime in October.
