MMA: Angela Lee retains ONE Championship title, Singapore fighters shine

Angela Lee successfully defended her atomweight title against Brazil’s Istela Nunes on Friday (26 May) night during the main event at the ONE: Dynasty of Heroes mixed martial arts (MMA) card.

Fighting in front of a packed Singapore Indoor Stadium, Lee won by submission in the second round and took her unbeaten winning streak to eight victories in a row since beginning the professional MMA career.

Singapore’s Olympic gold medallist Joseph Schooling was also invited to be part of Lee’s entourage.

Earlier in the evening, Singapore fighters Tiffany Teo and Amir Khan won their respective contests. Teo beat her strawweight opponent, the US’ Rebecca Heintzman-Rozewski, while Khan won by submission against his lightweight challenger, India’s Rajinder Singh Meena.
