Neighbours' Terese and Melanie to come face-to-face after Toadie betrayal

Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours' Terese Willis and Melanie Pearson will come face-to-face in upcoming scenes following Toadie Rebecchi's betrayal.

Terese recently returned to Erinsborough after spending some time in Adelaide to clear her head, following the discovery that her husband Toadie had cheated on her with his ex-wife Melanie.

Terese has remained deeply affected by Toadie's betrayal and can't bear to be around either him or Melanie. However, Melanie will finally corner Terese next week to issue a heartfelt apology.

In scenes airing on Tuesday (April 16), Terese begins working with Paul on recruiting staff for her new business venture, Eirini Rising.

However, she abruptly retreats when she catches sight of Melanie, before admitting to Paul that she refuses to be around Melanie because she doesn't want to cry in front of her.

Meanwhile, Melanie is genuinely saddened that her presence makes such an emotional impact on Terese's life.

Later on, Melanie finally corners Terese and sincerely apologises for her betrayal, hoping that it will make Terese feel less triggered by her presence.

To Terese's surprise, understanding the depth of Melanie's genuine regret does help to ease her pain.

Terese accepts Melanie's apology, though she adds that she is still deeply saddened that everyone's lives - including Melanie's - are now worse off.

Have Terese and Melanie finally reached an understanding with one another?
