More rain is forecast for Singapore and the surrounding region in the first half of August as the prevailing Southwest Monsoon conditions persist, said the Meteorological Service.

In a press statement on Wednesday (1 August), a Met Service spokesperson said that Singaporeans can expect more rainfall, compared with the last fortnight of July 2018.

“During the coming fortnight, short-duration thundery showers are forecast on five to seven days, with most of the showers occurring between the late morning and early afternoon. On some of these days, the showers could extend into the late afternoon.”

In addition, there may be two or three days of heavy thundery showers accompanied by gusty winds.

The daily temperature for the next two weeks is expected to range between 24 and 33 degrees Celsius on most days, and may hit 34 degrees Celsius on a few days with little or no rain.
