A war relic discovered at a construction site in Woodlands on Sunday (29 July) was disposed of by officers from the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

According to a post on the SAF’s Facebook page, the EOD team was activated at 11am after an Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was found at the site along Woodlands Road.

The team found the UXO to be a 15cm high-explosive projectile, which was “safely disposed” of at around 9pm at the site. In its post, the SAF also included video footage of the area where the UXO was found and its personnel piling sandbags around the object ahead of it being detonated.

Separately, the police also closed off a segment of Mandai Road from 8pm to 9pm in order to facilitate the disposal of the UXO.
