Four teenagers have been arrested after they were believed to be involved in a case of rash act and public nuisance in the vicinity of Punggol MRT Station and Bus Interchange, the police said in a statement on Tuesday (20 June).

The police said that they received a report regarding a man throwing a bicycle into a canal, and riding a bicycle in an MRT Station and bus interchange last Friday (16 June).

The teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, were arrested along Ang Mo Kio Ave 9 on Monday (19 June) after police carried out extensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations. Further police investigations are in progress.

Yahoo Singapore understands that a video of the incident has been circulating online. In the video, a shirtless male is seen riding on a bicycle around an MRT station and then riding on a road, nearly colliding with an oncoming bus. The man was then seen throwing the bicycle into a canal.

The arrests comes days after police arrested a 14-year-old teen for allegedly throwing an ofo bicycle down a HDB block.

If convicted of committing a rash act, the suspects face a jail term of at least six months or a fine not more than $2,500, or both. If convicted of causing public nuisance, the suspects face a fine of not more than $1,000.
