Honkai: Star Rail developer HoYoverse has begun to reveal the new set of playable characters coming in version 1.5 in mid-November, starting with the 5-star character Huohuo!
Huohuo wields the Wind element and follows the Path of Abundance, so we can expect her to act as a healer.
Huohuo is a green-haired Foxian girl from the Xianzhou Luofu who is a Ten-Lords Commission Judge-in-training, described as "pitiable and helpless" because she fears the very ghosts she is tasked to catch and exorcise.
Huohuo's timid and cowardly nature is even shown by the fact that she uses a white banner to both dispel spirits and signal her surrender when she finds herself in trouble.
Her fear of ghosts may stem from the fact that Tail — a heliobus or a form of parasitic being made of pure energy — was ironically enough sealed in her tail by the judges of the Ten-Lords Commission. As such, she became "a cursed one" that attracts inhuman beings, further amplifying her fears.
Huohuo's fears even led her to believe that she is lacking in ability.
However, she is unable to muster the courage to resign from her position in the Ten-Lords Commission and continues onward despite walking in a valley of her own fear.
Interestingly enough, Huohuo is listed as having two voice actors, namely Courtney Lin and Adam Michael Gold for the game's English dub. Courtney Lin is most likely voicing Huohuo herself while Adam Michael Gold will be voicing Tail, the heliobus sealed in the character's tail.
From that, we can assume that Huohuo will likely have the same dynamic as the 5-star Destruction character Clara, who leaves the actual fighting to her robot guardian Svarog.
Aside from Huohuo, we can expect HoYoverse to reveal more characters coming in version 1.5 in the coming days. For reference, Honkai: Star Rail's upcoming version 1.4 update features three new characters: the 5-stars Jingliu and Topaz as well as the 4-star Guinaifen.
HoYoverse is set to reveal more of the upcoming content in version 1.4 in the version preview livestream on Friday (29 September) ahead of the update's expected release date on 11 October.
