On Friday, April 19, the actress, 43, shared a heartwarming video on her Instagram Stories of her son Malcolm, 2, whom she shares with partner John Mulaney, 41, as he gives her a present.

"You are so beautiful," Malcolm sweetly says as he walks towards his mom and hands her a small purple flower.

"Oh my gosh, thank you, Malcolm," Munn says as her son turns away, showing the back of his denim jumpsuit, which reads "I love my mummy."

Munn, who opened up to PEOPLE about her breast cancer diagnosis in this week's cover story, shared that not being able to hold her son while she was recovering from her double mastectomy was one of the "hardest things."

"When I woke up, it was really painful and I was really out of it, and I had actually lost a lot of blood and my surgery went from what was supposed to be an 8-hour surgery to a 10-hour surgery because of that blood loss," Munn shared, noting the first day after surgery was a "rougher time" because of that.

"So the first part is tough because it's just a lot of pain. You've gone through a massive surgery and I didn't really at that time think about what I had lost, because you're all bandaged up," she said.

But it began to sink in when Munn was discharged.

"Then when I get home, three days later, Malcolm runs up and he said, 'Mama, pick [me] up?' " Munn remembered.

"And I said, 'Oh I can't pick you up.' And I squatted down to give him a hug, and then he just sat on my leg and goes, 'But Mama, pick [me] up!' That was probably one of the hardest things because all you want to do is pick up your baby."

In March, Munn shared another cute video with Malcolm on her Instagram as the mother-son duo spent some time together in a park. Malcolm could be seen running through the grass toward his mom, who bent down to receive his huge hug.

Munn then lifted him into the air and kissed him, wiggling his body around.

"This is the best," she sweetly wrote in her caption.
