Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Friday (17 August) that he will address issues that are “on people’s minds” at the National Day Rally 2018 on Sunday (19 August) evening.

In a video post on his Facebook page, Lee said that he will talk about cost of living, water and electricity prices, medical costs, and housing. The video was filmed against the backdrop of the Institute of Technical Education Central in Ang Mo Kio, where the Rally – Lee’s 15th as Singapore’s leader – will be held.

“Domestically, we are working hard, improving people’s lives, addressing problems, preparing to grow further,” Lee said.

Internationally, Lee said that the government is closely watching changes that are underway.

“It’s been a busy year for Singapore, on a whole, a good year,” Lee said.

Lee will speak in Malay and Mandarin (6.45 pm to 7.30 pm) and English (8.15 pm to 9.30 pm).

The Rally will be broadcast on local TV channels and radio stations. In addition, it will be live streamed on online channels such as the Prime Minister’s Office YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/pmosingapore) and Lee’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/leehsienloong).
