SEA Games: Cambodia player bounces off Singapore basketballer in comic fashion

It’s almost a week since the 2017 SEA Games Opening Ceremony on Friday. There’s been plenty of action around the different arenas, and plenty of light-hearted moments, too. Yahoo News Singapore brings you a collection of some of these moments.

Basketball: Cambodia player bounces off Singapore centre Lavin Raj… literally

Seventeen-year-old Lavin Raj is one of the few players on the Singapore basketball team making their SEA Games debut, yet, he is already a crowd favourite at the MABA Stadium where the SEA Games basketball games are held. It all started from this moment in Singapore’s first game against Cambodia, when he stood in the way of a Cambodian player, who literally bounced off him, lost his balance, and the ball. Watch:

Synchronised swimming: Duet speak in sync, too

Malaysian’s gold medal-winning synchronised swimming duet Lee Yhing Huey and Gan Hua Wei took their synchronisation to another level during this post-swim interview after the duet free event. Lee and Gan are so in sync that they said the exact same response to a question at the same time. Watch:


Athletics: Gold medallist takes a tumble while celebrating

Malaysian 100m sprinter Khairul Hafiz Jantan became Southeast Asia’s fastest man after he won his event with a timing of 10.38s, ending a 14-year medal drought for his country in the event. Sure, there can be no better way to do it than in front of your own country, but Khairul’s celebration went a little unexpectedly after he took a tumble. Watch:
